Thomas the Tank Engine

I joined Thomas and Friends as script editor/head writer on an eight week contract and ended up staying for three years, countless episodes, and one Bafta nomination.

Despite the two hour drive to Shepperton, I learned to love the modified world on the Island of Sodor, where no-one was  terrified or furious, they were scared or cross, or, if pushed very cross.

This is one of my favourite Percy eps  (my favourite engine) and includes a genuine, paid-up joke for three-year-olds. I’m still proud.

I have an autistic grandson [now 20] who, as many children with autism are, is absolutly fixated with thomas the \tank engine.Hi name is mark Coyle and he constantly writes stories ,scrips and illustrations about TTTE. Would anyone be interested in seeing any of them as i consider many of them to be very good. one in particular about a boy visiting thomas and then growing up and taking his son to meet thomas. He has a fantastic imagination

Did you ever include Bulstrode in any of your scripts?

Like I say, Percy and the Magic Carpet – I think it’s sweet, funny, and I had to fight all the way to the top to get it made.
